More progress to report today. Continues to amaze me how generous people are.

Emma Campbell-Critchley of Herbalife has today agreed to support the expedition by providing some Energy & Hydration drinks to me. I am looking forward to trying these out, heard a lot of great things about Herbalife products in the past so it should be good.

If anybody is interested learning more about Herbalife or attening the Arriba Weight loss classes in Darlington, Emma can be contacted on yourwellbeing@ymail.com

You Win Some, You Lose Some

Some great news and some disappointing news today.

We could potentially have another sponsor on board.  Quite accidentally, it was brought to my attention that this trip was not only cost neutral but also carbon neutral.  As this is a solo expedition with no flights, no support vehicle, my pedal powered route to Paris and back is completely ‘green’ (I must try and remember that whilst fearing for my life on the streets of rush hour London!)

I can’t say that I am particularly an expert on carbon efficiency, but luckily, I know a man who is.  I am keen to look at linking in with this organisation to maybe look at the ways we can limit carbon output.  Hopefully I will get to visit some interesting projects along the way and educate myself further.  I will update more on that when I can.

On the flip side, more rejection letters and emails today.  I am not surprised, I don’t expect everyone to be able to help, but really, I wrote to a well known company asking for one of their products to assist me on the trip.  I made sure to specify that I dint need a new product, simply a refurbished model or potentially an ex display?  A lovely lady replied today to thank me for my email, wish me luck on the trip and reject my request for a number of reasons.  I say a number of reasons, because the employee hadn’t thought to remove the various options that they must have on their template, rejection letter.  It did make me laugh but I really was a little frustrated as they point out that they have supported very activity they can this year. (They mentioned a Cycling Team and a Rugby Team)  I don’t want to sound bitter but when you get emails from students offering you their sleeping bag or tent, and you see strangers donating some cash, I do get a sense of disappointment when a company with a multi million pound profit last year, cant send me an ex display sat nav.  Oh well, on to the next.

Just nobody buy...

Just kidding!
